- Account details: name, email, phone number (riders and drivers)
- Trip details: pickup/drop-off addresses, route, distance, time, fare, number of riders
- Location data: pickup/drop-off coordinates and, if you allow it, approximate map location
- Device data: push notification tokens (FCM), device type, IP address
- Communications: messages/notifications related to your booking
- Preference and usage: booking mode (asap/scheduled), promo codes
3. How we collect it
- Directly from you when you book a ride, create an account, or contact us
- Automatically from your device when you enable location or push notifications
- From third-party services we use to run the app (see below)
4. Why we use your information (legal bases)
- To provide the service (contract): create/manage bookings; match riders and drivers; send ride status updates
- Legitimate interests: security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting, service improvement
- Consent: push notifications, approximate location access, promo emails (if ever used)
- Legal obligations: record-keeping where required by law or local regulations
5. How we use your information
- Operate the rider and driver apps and booking widget
- Calculate fares and show trip estimates
- Assign rides and notify drivers and passengers
- Send booking confirmations and updates (email and push notifications)
- Maintain safety, prevent abuse, and debug issues
6. Sharing your information
We share only what is necessary to operate the service:
- With assigned drivers: pickup/drop-off, rider first name, contact phone, number of riders
- With service providers:
- Google Maps Platform (maps, routes, Places)
- Firebase (Firestore, Realtime Database, Cloud Functions, FCM)
- Hostinger SMTP (booking emails via nodemailer)
- Where required by law or to protect rights and safety
7. International transfers
Our primary processing region is EU (europe-west2). Some providers may process data in other regions (e.g., US). Where transfers occur, we rely on approved safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Data retention
- Bookings and trip records: typically up to 24 months unless needed longer for legal/accounting reasons
- Notification tokens (FCM): kept while active; removed when outdated or when you opt out
- Account data: kept while your account is active; deleted upon request subject to legal requirements
9. Your rights (UK GDPR)
- Access, correction, deletion, restriction, and portability of your data
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it (e.g., push notifications)
- Lodge a complaint with the ICO: ico.org.uk
10. Security
- Encrypted transport (HTTPS) and restricted access controls
- Role-based access for admin/staff; audit logs in Cloud Functions
- Regular dependency updates and monitoring
11. Cookies and local storage
We use localStorage/sessionStorage for essential app state (e.g., user type, guest details, recent addresses). We don't use third‑party advertising cookies.
12. Push notifications
With your consent, we send status updates and driver/rider alerts using Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can disable notifications in your device settings or by logging out.
13. Location data
We collect pickup/drop-off addresses and coordinates for bookings. We may ask for approximate location to improve search; you can decline. We do not continuously track rider location in the background.
14. Children
Our services are not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us to remove it.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the effective date and notifying users where appropriate.
